I caught my first fish at age 2 and haven’t looked back!
I grew up in the San Diego area and cut my teeth fishing for anything that I could catch - usually bluegill and bullheads in the small creek that ran behind the house. I was fortunate enough that even though we lived near San Diego, my parents always chose to live in rural areas! I was 10 years old when my Grandma bought me a fly rod and fly tying kit. At that point I was eager to learn everything there was to know about fishing. The dog, cats, and Mom's parakeets all lost a bit of their fur and feathers as I began working on my first fly! Great Pyrenees tails make a great minnow pattern...
I have always had a passion for the outdoors, fishing and hunting became an obsession for me. I started guiding waterfowl hunts when I turned 18, and after a couple of years bouncing around from Florida to Wyoming, I decided to put down some roots and started Wild Times Guide Service in the Klamath Basin. The Klamath has so much to offer for the outdoorsman it was the perfect spot for me. Aside from the incredible waterfowl hunting, the Klamath Basin is home to the wild redband rainbow, which grow to mammoth proportions in a short period of time!
The area I guide is full of trophy class waters, and I rarely even see another fisherman - talk about finding Shangri-la! As a full time guide for the past 20 years I became quite the gear head, and can't wait to start working with Scott Rods!
