Brian Richter is a native Idahoan. He grew up fishing our area waters with his father, both learning the art of fly-fishing together. He started fishing in the Wood River Valley at the age of 12 and began tying custom flies for people at the age of 17. Brian has always been dedicated to the sport of flies and fish. In college, he further improved his fly fishing talents by starting a college minor in aquatic entomology, just so he better understood what trout like to eat! Brian is an avid angler in both the fresh and saltwater arenas and a world class fly tier in both as well. When not on the water or behind the vise, Brian enjoys hunting, packing, music, art and a good book. If he’s not busy learning something new about the sport of fly-fishing, he is busy teaching others its subtle nuances.
