"I've been chasing the elusive steelhead with a fly rod for over 20 years, a guide for 5 years and now also work at Pacific Fly Fishers in Mill Creek, WA.

Although I have been known to chase other species both in the salt and in the rivers and lakes, steelhead will always be my fish of choice.  My home river is the Skykomish River. This was the first river I fished, and it was the first river to produce my very first steelhead. Ever since that mid-April day years ago, I've been addicted to steelhead fishing with the fly.
Steelheading to me is an insatiable passion; a passion that can only be temporarily fulfilled by spending the day on the river, swinging for the bruisers in the cold waters of Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
I get asked many times, "why did you become a guide?" I decided to start my guide service Northwest Steelheading to share my knowledge of the local rivers and steelhead with other anglers who share my passion or anglers who are looking to experience the exhilaration of their first steelhead taken on the fly.
A guided day of fishing with me typically involves a float down the river in a raft, stopping to get out and wade while swinging flies. The rivers I guide include the Skykomish in the summer and winter; the Hoh, Queets, and Sol Duc in the winter and spring; and the Grand Ronde, and Wenatchee in the fall. Each river has its own history and personality. As we spend the day searching for willing steelhead, I will do my best to help you learn the river, understand the types of water steelhead are most likely to hold in, and offer my assistance with the various techniques of swinging flies for steelhead.
I look forward to fishing with you whether you have been doing this for decades or if this is your first trip with a fly rod in hand."
